Q. How is That Gift Game different from white elephant?

A. White elephant is the gift exchange everyone knows, and every family plays it a little differently. In That Gift Game, the cards tell you what to do. On your turn you play a card to trade, open, steal or pass, so everyone plays by the same rules. One of our customers put it this way: "Better than the typical White Elephant Gift exchange where you take numbers and steal until it's frozen."

Q. Can more than 14 people play?

A. One game is made for 4 to 14 players. For a bigger group, you can split into two games, like one table for the kids and one for the grown-ups.

Q. Can kids play?

A. Yes. We recommend it for ages 7 and up. Everyone follows the same cards, so kids and grown-ups play together.

Q. Can you play it every year?

A. Yes. Everyone brings new gifts each year, so every game turns out differently. Nothing gets used up, so one game lasts year after year. Lots of families make it their annual tradition.

Q. Can we play with gift cards?

A. Yes. Decide on an amount ahead of time, have everyone bring a gift card for that amount wrapped, and play exactly the same way.

Q. What's in the box?

A. 73 cards in three decks, in a hinged magnetic box: 13 red gift cards that decide which gift each player starts with, 44 white game cards that players play on their turns, and 16 gray surprise cards. The white deck includes a Block card and a Final Trade card. A printed rule sheet comes in the box too.

Q. How fast does it ship?

A. Orders ship within 2 business days from Arizona with free standard USPS shipping, and most arrive 3 to 5 days after that. Need it sooner? Choose Priority Mail at checkout.

Q. What price should we set for the gifts?

A. Decide on an amount ahead of time and tell everyone, so the gifts are close in value.

Q. My card said to open the gift in front of me. Is the game over for me?

A. NO! All gifts (opened & wrapped) are in play until the very end of the game.

Q. My card says to trade with the tallest person but I am the tallest person.

A. Trade with the next tallest person besides yourself.

Q. I picked up a BLOCK card, can I block the person with the FINAL TRADE card?

A. Yes, the BLOCK card can be used one time, even to block the final trade

Q. Is there a limit on the number of players?

A. This version of the game is designed for 4-14 players.

Q. Is there an age recommendation?

A. We recommend it for ages 7 and up.
